Seachem MATRIX 1L is a filtration cartridge in the form of granules with high porosity. The structure of each granule is optimal for the settlement of micro-organisms, including nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. This allows efficient removal of nitrates, nitrites and ammonia from the tank.

The diameter of each granule varies around 10mm, and their total area per 1l is about 700m2 (this is the value corresponding to 170l of plastic bioballs). Seachem Matrix 1l is chemically inert and does not decompose. You do not need to replace it (granules can be rinsed). It can be used in marine, reef and freshwater tanks.
