The LEDDY SLIM SUNNY DAY & NIGHT LED lamp is designed to illuminate open freshwater reservoirs. It contains carefully selected LEDs that provide the perfect illumination of the aquarium, guaranteeing excellent living conditions for its inhabitants and a unique visual effect. Its flat, futuristic shape and fashionable black or white color make it a perfect match for modern aquarium tanks and looks great in any interior. In addition, it is universal – extendable brackets allow it to be installed also on tanks of non-standard sizes. It can also be hung above the aquarium to the ceiling or a special frame using the accessory LEDDY SLIM HANGER set.
The LEDDY SLIM SUNNY DAY & NIGHT lamp is equipped with the Day & Night function. It works in three operating modes: DAY / DAYBREAK / NIGHT. DAY is the basic and most powerful light for illuminating the aquarium during the day. DAYBREAK is a reduced power of daylight to 50% plus blue light. It works well as the first mode after night and when feeding fish – especially in the case of a skittish cast. NIGHT is a blue glow that allows for a unique observation of the aquarium after dark, including fish and animals with a nocturnal lifestyle. Day & Night lighting will beautifully display the arrangement in the aquarium both during the day and at night, and will also make the interior of the room in which the tank is located more cozy. Changing the DAY / DAYBREAK / NIGHT operating mode takes place after the module is turned off and on with a switch within no more than 5 seconds. Switching directly into the DAY mode takes place after the module is turned off for a period longer than 5 seconds and then turned on again. It is best to automate this process using the modern SOCKET DUO aquarium controller.
The lamp was designed and manufactured in Poland in the Aquael factory, which has been providing aquarists with products full of well-designed solutions since 1984.
The LEDs installed in the LEDDY SLIM SUNNY DAY & NIGHT lamp emit light with a color temperature of 7000 K. This ensures faithful reproduction of the colors of all aquarium inhabitants and guarantees good conditions for aquarium plants.
How much light in the aquarium?
How much light does an aquarium require? It depends on what species of plants we intend to grow in it. In terms of lighting requirements, they can be divided into three groups:
Group I – shade bearing species, eg “pelia”, mosses, winged microflora, helical dungeons, some plots (eg.
Group II – moderately photophilous species, e.g. spherical seaweed, water recess, wands, tiger lotus, ludwigie, broad-leaved waterfish, three-flowered waterfowl, anglerfish, broadleaf darts, Argentine swamp, giant dungwort, daffodils, limnophiles, cryophyllum , Japanese blyxa, spearmen.
Group III – definitely photophilous species, eg kabomba, “glossostigma”, hemiantus.
Usually, the lighting power per liter of the aquarium is converted. It is conventionally assumed that in the case of LED lamps for the cultivation of shade plants it is necessary to have min. 0.15-0.2 W for each liter of water. Moderately demanding plants need 0.25-0.4 W / l, while those definitely light-loving even 0.5-0.7 W / l.
The “day” in the aquarium can fall on virtually any part of the day. If the tank is located far from the windows and is illuminated only with artificial light, the hours of switching the lighting on and off can be practically any. It is best to simply adjust them to our preferences and the hours in which we are usually present in the apartment (eg “dawn” at 3:00 pm and “dusk” at 1:00 am). We can then enjoy the beauty of our own “piece of the underwater world” at will.
